walk for hunger boston 2009

One child, we realize how important good nutrition is essential for the development of children, such as Peter. With the rising cost of food, it is increasingly difficult for low-income parents to buy good food for the children. Hunger affects children's physical and mental development and helps break the cycle of poverty. We believe that no child or adult deserves to starve.

As a result of the global economic crisis, more and more people are unable to make ends meet. They are forced to go without food to pay their rent, utility and medical bills. The demand for emergency food aid has never been greater with pantries and meal programs supported by Project Bread to serve 43.4 million meals last year alone.

Open the Project Bread Walk for Hunger website and sponsor us for the hike. Donations in any amount large or small are welcome. Together we can make a difference.
If you live in Boston, register to walk or volunteer. If you have already registered, please let us know how we are happy to see you on 3 May.
We are always open to good thoughts, prayers and moral support in addition to or instead of donations.

Project helps bread with the help of the equipment used in the Walk for Hunger to support 400 emergency food programs in the state. These include some of the most popular places to volunteer, such as:

Haley House, the daily meals to homeless men and older people, and a bakery training program to promote self-sufficiency for underemployed people with barriers to employment.
Wednesday Night Supper Club, where a hot and nutritious meal is served once a week for the guests anddignity.
Greater Boston Food Bank, where food is thrown away by supermarkets is salvaged for storage of food pantries.
